# Understanding and Modeling Marine Fog

This is documenting the progress of my Master's research which involves using the Weather Research and Forecasting model (WRF) to study and predict marine fog and marine stratus. This part of the research is to understand how radiation affects fog and how the radiation schemes in WRF work and interact with fog/clouds.

For the first part, I will use the book: [Marine Fog: Challenges and Advancements in Observations, Modeling, and Forecasting](https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-319-45229-6) to get a good background on the interactions of longwave and solar radiation with marine fog.
